2026 Menards Pet Drive

It’s back again! Your local Menards home improvement store is
again serving as a drop site for a local Humane Association for two
full months: April 1 through May 31, 2026. We’re pleased that
we’re able to participate in such a wonderful event as we hope to lend
a helping hand to the community!

Menards offers a wide variety of pet supplies that will be donated to a
Humane Association including food, treats, feeders, collars, beds,
storage containers, mats and so much more that can be found in the
Pet & Wildlife Department for immediate donation. There is a large
collection box near the exit doors at Menards to place donations.

Special Olympics Indiana-Law Enforcement Torch Run

Special Olympics Indiana is partnering with Dunkin' locations across the state and local law enforcement for "Cop on a Rooftop': a fundraising event for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Indiana. LETR is a campaign that promotes awareness for Special Olympics by providing an opportunity for law enforcement officers and athletes to run the flame of hope together. Bloomington PD, IUPD, and Monroe County Sheriff's Office will be at our local Dunkin, 300 S College Mall Rd, Bloomington, IN 47401, on Friday May 16 from 5am-noon collecting donations for this cause. Some Dunkin' locations will actually let law enforcement on the roof for this event, but due to the construction of the building that houses our local Dunkin', our law enforcement will be on the ground.

Hoosier Hills Food Bank Garden & Gleaning

HHFB’s Garden & Gleaning programs provide locally-grown fresh fruits and vegetables for free distribution to those in need of emergency food assistance. Volunteers and community supporters are the most important asset our programs have; the more volunteers we have, the more fresh food we can raise and rescue.

No gardening experience is necessary. Volunteers are needed most during the main growing season. However, volunteers can schedule winter shifts to learn about and help with garden planning and program development.
Join us any time during regular garden volunteer hours:

Tuesdays 4-7pm

Friday 9am-12pm

To check for weather cancellations or special volunteer events, including teen gardening, please visit the Garden & Gleaning calendar. We also welcome school, church and other community groups.  To schedule, please call Cory at (812) 334-8374 or email garden@hhfoodbank.org.

Monroe County Coats for the Community Drive

Monroe County Coats for the Community is currently collecting winter coats and apparel such as hats, gloves, and scarves for the upcoming winter season. Drop-off donation boxes for these items can be found at local businesses around town. For a list of locations, or to sign up to volunteer on Distribution Day on October 9th, visit the Monroe County Coats for the Community Facebook page.

Boxes Needed for Pantry 279 Distribution Days

Pantry 279 is in need of medium to large size boxes, as they go through 100 - 120 per day to package and deliver food to their food pantry clients.

If you have boxes, please take them to the Pantry 279 at 501 E Temperance Street in Ellettsville on Saturdays. Boxes can be accepted between 10 a.m-2 p.m. Earlier the better so we can pack them for the drive-through pickups.

The Crestmont Community Food & Supplies Drive

There is a concentrated effort to bring much-needed groceries and supplies to Boys & Girls Club member families living in the Crestmont Community. Nearly 60 families have already benefited from this initiative, and the efforts have now even expanded to serve Lincoln Street Club families in need!

Drop-offs are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Ferguson Crestmont Club (1111 W. 12th Street).
Deliveries will be made to families in-need every Friday.

If you would like to help, the online list of needs and a signup sheet are available at bloomingtonvolunteernetwork.org
